Francis X. Diebold is Professor of Economics, Finance and Statistics at the University of Pennsylvania. He is an NBER Faculty Research Associate, as well as an elected Fellow of the Econometric Society, the American Statistical Association, and the International Institute of Forecasters. He has been President of the Society for Financial Econometrics and Co-Director of the Wharton Financial Institutions Center. He has published widely in econometrics, forecasting, finance, and macroeconomics, and his academic research is firmly linked to practical matters. During 2012-2013, for example, he served as Chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve System's Model Validation Council. Diebold also lectures widely and has held visiting professorships at leading institutions, world-wide. His academic "family" includes nearly 75 Ph.D. students.

Kamil Yilmaz is Professor of Economics at Koc University. He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Pennsylvania in 2003-2004 and 2020-2011 academic years. He was the Director of Koc University-TUSIAD Economic Research Forum from 2007 to 2009. He received the Encouragement Award in the Social Sciences and Humanities from the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA) in 2003. He previously worked at the World Bank Research Department. He is a graduate of Bogazici University, with a PhD from University of Maryland, College Park.
